Lake Charles Wedding Photographer
Time has a way of sneaking up on us, doesn’t it? In my head I thought the headshots I’ve been using were a couple years old. Maybe 3. That’s recent enough, right? But when I went to check, just to see, I realized they were 6 years old! How did that happen? So much has happened in those 6 years. I moved states, I’ve had two kids. My business has changed. I’ve changed!
This spring I decided to completely overhaul my website to better reflect who I am and what my business has become after 9 years in photography. These changes happened to coincide with my 30th birthday next week, so updated headshots seemed like a natural thing to do. But with a toddler and a 5-month it wasn’t easy finding a time for self-portraits. I trade child care for Benjamin (the two-year-old) with another mom every Wednesday morning, and the last time she watched him, the stars just aligned. It was cloudy (otherwise 10am isn’t the best time for photos) and not too hot or cold for the baby to accompany me. I packed Clara up in her stroller, grabbed my tripod and remote, and got to work! It took about an hour of trial and error with focus to get these photos, but I love them!! And Clara was a champ out there working with me. I so regret not grabbing her for a few mommy and me photos!! We’ll just have to do it again soon. I love the mommy and me photos I did with Benjamin when he turned one.
