The Estes Family
We haven’t had new family pictures taken since we got married (sad for a photographer, I know), and adopting a new pup seemed like a good excuse to finally do it again. Milestones seem like a natural time to get new photos done, and I’d like to do family photos every year one we have kids, but the last few years it just seems like not much about our life is different. I’m telling myself more than anyone, but that’s no reason not to get new pictures made!! Adopting a dog this fall was enough of a milestone to push me to do it, and I’m so glad I did! We had a friend of mine take the pictures, and I edited them. He did a fantastic job and I love the way they turned out!
Here’s a quick update on Sadie is any of you are curious. She’s a little embarrassed about her bare belly in the pictures (she got spayed in October and the hair has been really slow to grow back), so if you meet her make sure not to mention it. 😉 She has really attached to me which is both adorable (I’ve never had an animal love me most before) and slightly annoying (she follows me around the house). She does great with all the house rules when we’re home, but she gets a little anxious when we leave. This week that meant we had to redecorate the Christmas tree because someone chewed through the lights. We’re going to work on crate training her starting this weekend, and hopefully that will help her and US have less anxiety when she’s home alone.
I feel like at every stage of my life I realize more about how awesome my mom is, and getting a dog was no exception. She was the primary dog trainer in our family for all the dogs we had, and I had not idea how much work she put into it. Thanks for all you did then, and all the advice you’re giving me now!
