July Goals
It had been a crazy couple months, and not just for photography. As many of you know I work full-time doing photography and graphic design at Southeastern seminary in Wake Forest in addition to this crazy little business, and I’ve had two work trips totaling 19 days away from home in the last 6 weeks. For some people who travel a lot that might not sound like a lot, but for me, and introverted home-body, it felt LONG, and I am SO glad to be home for a few weeks before the next thing. One of my work trips was to Paris (!!!!), and things worked out so that I could do an engagement session while I was there. If you missed that blog post, hop over there and check it out! My next work trip in the middle of June was to St. Louis, which meant I got to see some of my family (my grandma, my aunt, my cousin, and her kids…check out the pictures below) that lives about 45 minutes from the city AND stop off and see my parents and sister on the way back. I love spending time with my family, and enjoy taking every opportunity I can to see them!! Anyway, here we are at the beginning of July, and I have a few goals
- File sales tax – This is not the most glamorous of to-dos, but I LOVE feeling productive and checking things off my list, and I can’t do that if the task wasn’t on my list to begin with. I know, I’m weird. =)
- Submit Lauren + Josiah’s wedding to blogs – Lauren and Josiah’s wedding might possibly be my favorite wedding I’ve shot to date. The gorgeous venue + all the things I’ve been learning recently was a recipe for success! I HAVE to submit this one to a few blogs this month.
- Blog regularly – This is going to mean coming up with helpful posts that are not sessions or weddings. I’m entering my middle-of-the-summer-it’s-too-hot slow season, so I’ll have to do a little bit more work up front to stay on top of things, especially given my next to-do:
- Take a break for family vacation – On July 16th I will be boarding a cruise ship in Seattle bound for Alaska with Stephen and my family, and I do not plan on doing ANY work that week. It’s been SUCH a busy spring that I can’t wait to take a whole week to unplug! I’ll share photos as soon as I get back!!
Done:
Edit all sessions in the queue– This is not the first time this year that I’ve had a clean editing slate, and I cannot tell you how good it feels! Huzzah for being caught up!
