Grayson Highlands and the VA Creeper Trail

It’s no secret that I love the mountains, or that I love horses. So naturally my favorite place in the mountains is Grayson Highlands, where wild ponies were released in the 70s to maintain the balds. How cool is that??

Stephen and I went camping up there at the beginning of May with some of our best friends from college, Liz and Chris. They moved to Charlotte after they got married, so we haven’t seen them as much as we’d like, and we were thrilled with the idea of a weekend getaway together. We went for a beautiful hike along the Appalachian Trail, rode bikes down the Virginia Creeper Trail, and found the best burger joint in Damascus, VA. All in all a fantastic weekend, and I can’t wait for the next one!
