A Visual Art Exchange Wedding | Raleigh Wedding Photographer
I got to second shoot Abby and Ander’s wonderful Visual Art Exchange wedding back in May for Carolyn Marie Photography and we had a blast! Check out her blog post of the day here. These two got ready together in their home in Raleigh, which was a photographer’s dream. I absolutely loved the window light and the red walls! We got to do couples portraits a few different times, but the first was on part of the Raleigh greenway before heading over to the venue, the Visual Art Exchange downtown.
Then Abby and Ander brought out the best part: a bright red Schwinn tandem bicycle. Yes, they had their very own bicycle built for two. We got to do more couple portraits (a photographer’s other dream) in a brick alleyway right next to the VAE, which was by far my favorite part of the day. The color of the brick and Abby’s GORGEOUS bouquet (which Ander’s aunt made with flowers from Fern Rock Farm) were so much fun to photograph.
The ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt, with Abby’s parents walking her down the aisle together and Ander’s parents standing with him. I think my favorite part was a reading from the Velveteen Rabbit about how being loved is what makes you real. The reception was full of dancing, laughter, and some of the most amazing toasts I’ve ever heard. It really was a wonderful day. Congratulations Abby and Ander!
