September Goals
It has been a crazy summer! Between taking an online class, working, shooting weddings and portraits, and visiting friends I feel like I haven’t had a free moment. But I’m so excited about how much my business is growing and the great people I’ve gotten to work with.
Here are some of the things on my done list:
Become an S-Corporation– Wahoo! Hopefully this will make taxes a little less complicated next year.Catch up on Editing– It’s true that I caught up on all I needed to do when I set this goal at the beginning of the summer, but isn’t this always a photographer’s goal?Read more– Still working on the Return of the King, but I’ve read Ender’s Game and The Giver in the last month, both of which I highly recommend. I plan on getting Ender’s Shadow from the library soon and I’m really excited!
And here are some things I want to get accomplished in September:
- Stay Ahead on Editing – September and October are shaping up to be two of my busiest months ever! I am SO excited to work with some amazing couples and families in the next couple months and I want to get them their memories fast!
- Submit to Photo Blogs – I’m sitting on some really wonderful bridal portraits and have a few weddings from this summer that I want to get in shape for blog submissions. This is a busy month, but I still want to submit at least one to a photo blog!
- Redo our White Cabinet – In our neighborhood people leave furniture they don’t need anymore near the dumpster for the taking. Most things don’t last but a few hours before someone else picks them up. A few weeks ago I snagged a small white cabinet perfect for next to the door, but it’s pretty flimsy and needs a fresh coat of paint. It shouldn’t take long to fix it up and I love DIY projects, so this one shouldn’t be too difficult =)
- Try New Recipes – I love to cook, but sometimes it seems hard to find the time. I recently made pulled pork in the slow cooker for the first time and it was delicious! I’ve got a few others I’ve been wanting to try and I’d love to make time to do it!
