Southwest Louisiana Engagement Photos
It’s no secret this family farm out in Dry Creek is one of my favorite places to shoot! You really just can’t beat the oak-lined driveway, the blooming flowers, the split-rail fences, and the old barn. The list goes on an on! I did Taylor and Andre‘s session here at the beginning of March, and I’ve done lots of family and senior sessions too. Even when I give my clients a few suggestions on where to shoot, and as soon as they see this place, they’re sold.
I met Kaitlyn and Ty for the first time the day of our shoot a few weeks ago. We had a great time together! Kaitlyn is so sweet and fun, and it’s clear that they adore each other. They loved the old barn and farm equipment, so we ventured to the back of the property first to make sure to get those photos. Those photos are at the end of the blog post! The white flowering bushes really added some softness to that location. I think I’ll be going back there again in the future!
For engagement sessions, I always have my couples do two outfits so we get a a lot of variety in our images. I loved Kaitlyn’s blue dress for her more formal look! And her black top let her gorgeous red hair pop in the best possible way. Plus who doesn’t love a good jeans and cute top look?
The other thing I always remind my couples of is this: you don’t have to know what to do. I will tell you exactly what to do, and you’re going to do great! Everyone is nervous before a photo session, and Kaitlyn and Ty were no exception. But I give you everything you need to feel comfortable and confident, and I think you’ll agree they killed it! Congrats on your engagement, you two!! I can’t wait for November!
