Oxford Country Wedding
I’m so thankful that I got to photograph another really special wedding. I don’t know Abigail and Noah super well, but Abigail’s sister, Erin, is my sister-in-law and she has become very dear to me in the years since she began dating Stephen’s brother, Michael. I even got to photograph their wedding 2.5 year ago! Erin was the maid of honor, Michael was a groomsmen and Stephen’s other brother, Philip was the best man! With so many people I love involved, it was really special to be able to capture their day for them.
Noah and Abigail met at an acting camp in the summer of 2013. They became fast friends and assured everyone that they were nothing more. Eventually, though, they realized that wasn’t true, and in November of 2017 Noah asked Abigail to marry him at sunset at the beach. Of course, she said yes! I did their engagement photos back in January, and I knew their wedding would be just as wonderful =)
The weather wasn’t great, but the venue had a great covered driveway that allowed us to get those natural-light portraits without getting wet. It was perfect! And we got to run out and do portraits in other locations in between the rain. Probably the biggest compliment I got all day was from Abigail’s mom. She said she wasn’t even worried about the weather because she knew I’d do a great job. How sweet is that?
I loved Noah’s reaction when he saw Abigail for the first time. He’s so smitten, and it was clear he couldn’t really believe he was getting to marry her. I could feel that through the whole ceremony as well. And the venue, Thorndale Oaks, was perfect! Somehow it was quirky and classic at the same time and it so fit Abigail and Noah. Congratulations, you two!!
