You know when you meet someone and you just immediately hit it off? That was Taylor and Andre. They are so laid and back and easy-going. They laugh easily, and they weren’t scared away by a few sprinkles during their session. We shared our love for Lord of the Rings (I mean, check out Andre’s wedding band!), and they were up for any of my suggestions. We had a great time together! When the session was over, Taylor and Andre couldn’t believe it had been an hour-and-a-half!
But we almost didn’t shoot! We planned our session for Valentine’s Day because Tuesdays just happened to be best for all of us, and what a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day! But the weather was doing it’s best not too cooperate. We decided to wait until Tuesday morning to decide if we needed to reschedule. All my weather apps said the rain would be done by 3, so we decided to go for it! And I brought my clear umbrella…any chance I get to break out that baby, I take it! I’m so glad we did. We spent a lot of time under those gorgeous trees, which sheltered us from the wind and drizzle. And the umbrella pictures are some of my favorite!
Fun fact: the way I normally shoot, the sun is behind my subjects. Usually behind and off to the side. That’s how I get bright photos and that orangey glow at sunset. Cloudy weather has a different kind of light! It’s even light everywhere, but to avoid shadows under the eyes, I have to turn around and shoot with the “sun” behind me. You can see from other sessions I’ve done at this location that when it’s sunny I shoot the other way down the driveway!
These two get married at Pecan Coteau in April, and I can’t wait! It was such a joy to meet and work with them 😊
