Lake Charles Church Wedding
I am thrilled I got to work with this sweet couple! They got married in Welsh, and it was just so sweet. But if there’s one word I could use to describe their wedding day, it would be fun! The bridesmaids had music blasting while they were getting ready, and the guys were cutting up all day. Lisa and AJ truly had a great time with their friends on their wedding day, and that is such a gift!
I began photographing with the girls at one of the bridesmaids houses in Lake Charles. Y’all. Her house was gorgeous!! It seriously looked like a professional had decorated it. I was obsessed with the white couch in the living room with the wooden shelf above it. The greenery and other decor was perfect, and I used it as the backdrop for almost all the photos we took in the house. It didn’t hurt that it was next to the most perfect windows. It’s all about the light, and that’s true inside as well as outside.
Next we went to a property near the church to do portraits. I’m so glad Lisa thought about where to take pictures, because I wasn’t familiar with the church and there wasn’t much space there. The property owners were gracious enough to let us use their land, and it was SO pretty! I loved all the tall trees and lush greens. It was the perfect place for Lisa and AJ’s first look, couple portraits, wedding party portraits!
Then we headed to the ceremony at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh. It was so special for Lisa to be married by the priest she grew up listening to, and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it! They had their reception at the KC Hall in Iowa, not far from the church. I loved the white ceilings (I get to bounce my flash and make some oh-so-pretty light) and light green walls! I also loved the set-ups they had for their cakes.
