I loved meeting Nathaniel and Corie and being a part of their big day. Though their day wasn’t as big as they initially envision because of COVID. They’re one of the many couples who have had to change their plans over the last year. They were originally going to get married in January but had to move their date because of COVID restrictions. I love the second invitation they sent out that said “Love is contagious, but so is coronavirus.” It really seemed like they were such good sports about it all and just rolled with the punches.
Instead of having a large reception like they had planned, Nathaniel and Corie rented an AirBnB for the weekend. After talking with the owners, they got the go-ahead to have the bridesmaids and groomsmen get ready at the house and then for the wedding party and family to come back to the house for an informal get together after the ceremony. They still had a delicious meal and did the common reception events like the first dances, toasts, and cake-cutting, but it was all very low-key. Honestly, there were things about it that I loved even more than the traditional big reception!
There were a few things I really loved about this day….first, Nathaniel’s wedding band is so unique! I’ve shot a lot of weddings, and I’ve never seen anything like it. How cool is that? It was also awesome that the groomsmen were just hanging out playing pool before it was time to get ready. You don’t often have time to relax like that on your wedding day, but those are some of the best memories! I also don’t think I’ve ever seen such an emotional first look. Nathaniel and Corie had to work hard to stop the tears, and it was so sweet to be a part of. I know some of that is personality…not everyone shows emotions so quickly…but I’m also sure all the ups and downs they had in planning this day made it all the sweeter to finally get there. Congratulations, you two!!
In case you loved any of the details of the day, here is a list of all the other vendors involved! I honestly thought this list would be longer, but looking back at the info Corie gave me about the day, she and her friends did a lot of the work themselves. I’m super impressed because everything looked AMAZING!
