You would never know from looking at the pictures, but Benjamin was a typical toddler boy just wanting to play in the sticks and dirt and there were more mosquitoes than I’ve ever seen in one place in my life! But like I said, you would never know either of those things, and I’m so thankful to Katie from Reed Through the Lens Photography for capturing these sweet pictures before we meet our baby girl!!!
I worked with Katie on Carl + Jessica’s wedding back in February, which as it turns out was the day we found out we were expecting our daughter! We haven’t had a chance to work together again since then, but this fall we decided to do a family photo swap. She took these maternity/family photos of us and I edited them. A little later this year, I’ll take her family photos and she’ll be able to edit them. It’s a pretty great trade!
We drove down to Lake Arthur to this gorgeous old house that Katie shoots at pretty often. If it weren’t so far from DeRidder, I’d be a lot more disappointed that it’s private property and not just anyone can show up there for photos. It’s so gorgeous! They had some limbs down from Hurricane Laura, but it wasn’t too bad. But we did these photos just a few days before Hurricane Delta, which was much worse than Laura in that area. I hope this old beauty and its gorgeous tree did okay!
Before I sign off, can I just ask…when in the WORLD did Benjamin get so big? We’ve been reading a big brother book to him the last few weeks and he likes to repeat “Ben Ben big!” and “Baby soon!” He doesn’t really understand what it means that baby is coming soon yet, but I can’t wait to watch him love baby sister!
