Rustic Ridge DeRidder Engagement Session
Dustin and Amanda were the lucky winners of the wedding package giveaway I did back in February! I know that was just a few months ago, but it seriously feels like years. They’re getting married in just a few weeks out at Dry Creek Venue, so it was high time to get their engagement photos done. We had hoped to do their session in the spring before it got too hot, but I took a break from shooting in March and April to see how things unfolded. It was wonderful to shoot an engagement session again! We also could not have asked for a cooler June evening in Louisiana. I am SO thankful for that!
Thank you SO much to Rustic Ridge for allowing us to come out and shoot. Their property is gorgeous, as you can see, and the owners are just the sweetest and most accommodating people you’ll ever meet. They turned the string lights on in front of the barn for us, and it makes those photos that much more special. I love the old truck and milk crates they have parked right by the barn, and the pine trees in the front are one of my favorite places to shoot! We got some great sunset light too by walking around to the far side of the lake. I’m so glad Amanda was up for it in her heels, because it was so worth it!!
Amanda works at a furniture store and has been super busy for the last few months. She said, “everyone’s been sitting at home realizing they don’t like their furniture anymore and coming to buy new stuff!” Amanda and Dustin have 5 kids, and one of the things they’ve missed the most this spring is baseball. They met in 2016 as opposing coaches for their sons’ teams! They have four sons and one daughter, and they’ll all be in the wedding party in July. How fun is that?! I can’t wait for the wedding!!
