I started taking pictures for this little family almost two years ago, just after their son was born. It started as a “first year” set of sessions for baby John, but we didn’t stop there! It’s crazy how much he has grown in the last two years. The last time I photographed him, he wasn’t even crawling yet, let alone running. This year his constant desire to explore made photos of him alone a challenge, but we got some great shots anyway. I particularly love the candid ones of him stomping around the rocks looking for interesting things to pick up. I feel like it was a glimpse into my future with Benjamin! He’s never been one to sit still either, and with walking on the horizon, things are about to get a whole lot more interesting.

I hope I find clients like this in DeRidder and Lake Charles soon. People who keep coming back year after. I love watching families grow and kids’ personalities come alive. It’s one of my favorite things about family photography! And I think this time of year is the perfect time for it with the holidays. It’s a time to cherish those close to us, even if there’s physical distance. I’m so glad my brother gets to come to our house for Thanksgiving this year, though we’ll miss the rest of the crew, and I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating!
