These photos were taken on a (very) chilly morning in North Carolina when we were visiting family in October. I used to shoot at this park all the time, since it was about 5 minutes from our apartment, and it was great to be back! I’ve gotten to work with this family before as well, so it was wonderful to see and work with them again. With 5 kids, this session was a prime example of one of my most important tips for family sessions. With kids, someone is bound to not cooperate, but if we keep our heads and press on, we will get great photos. Little Olivia was NOT into pictures for a good portion of the session, so we let her be with mom for most of the photos and just kept going, no stress allowed. The photos below are proof that by the end of the session she had come out of her shell, and we got great photos even along the way!! It was a joy to work with this family again, and maybe we can do it again when I’m visiting next year!
