Dusty Blue Country Club Wedding
On Monday it didn’t look good for Allie and Camden’s wedding. On Tuesday it didn’t look any better. I talked with the coordinator, and she said they were still planning to proceed as planned, but in my head I’m thinking, “if this hurricane does what they’re saying it’s going to do, no way there’s going to be a wedding.” But then Wednesday came. And the hurricane track had shifted significantly to the south. And it stayed that way. On Thursday. And then Friday. By Saturday morning, we were confident it’d be windy and rainy, but we’d all be able to get there and the wedding would go on. And it did. And other than a few guests not being able to make it, it went off without a hitch. Everything was already supposed to be indoors, and Prestonwood Country Club has more porches than anywhere I’ve ever shot at, so we were still able to do all natural-light portraits outside. You couldn’t ask for a better venue for a wedding in the middle of a hurricane. Allie and Camden, I’m SO glad it worked out. It really was perfect!
Allie and Camden met at the campus gym at UNC during their sophomore year of college. Camden struck up a few conversations here and there before asking her to lunch at the campus dining hall. They immediately hit it off and decided they should go a real dinner date the following weekend. Just a few short weeks later and they were an official couple! In 2016, they graduated, moved to Cary, and adopted a crazy but super fun Siberian husky that they named Dany. She made an appearance in their engagement photos, if you remember. Camden proposed on Thanksgiving Day, 2017 on a walk in one of their favorite places, the American Tobacco Trail. In Allie’s words, they are both very laid-back, so it was perfect =)
A few of my favorite things from the wedding day were Allie’s bridal portraits and the send-off her friends gave her. Allie was on the dance team at UNC, so all of her dance team friends planned a special dance at the end of the night, complete with pom-poms. It was really special!! And we got to do a full hour of bridal portraits ON the wedding day. That was Allie’s idea since they opted not to do a special bridal portrait session ahead of time, and I loved it! There are other stories I could share, but I know you just want to see the pictures, so I’ll stop here. Congrats, Allie and Camden!! I hope Hawaii was AMAZING and that you got some much needed rest!!
