Outdoor Plantation Wedding
Lauren and Anthony are clearly part of a close-knit community in Roanoke Rapids. The whole day felt like one big family celebration, and I loved that. Lauren and Anthony got married on the property of a friend whose family has lived there for more than 100 years. It is GORGEOUS out there, and everyone really came together to decorate for the reception in a really spectacular way. They even did all the flowers and bouquets themselves! I’m always impressed by people like that. I can sometimes replicate ideas I see (*sometimes), but when it comes to crafty things I have no original ideas of my own.
The whole day was just so relaxed. They didn’t have a wedding party, and only family was invited to ceremony, so it felt very intimate. They had a low-key lunch for those who attended the ceremony and then a break before everyone arrived for the reception. During the break they got to rest and have a very relaxed 45 minutes of couple portraits. It was a photographers dream! I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t running around like crazy at a wedding. Those weddings are always great too, but this was just so different that it was refreshing. Congratulations, you two!! Your day was so wonderful; it was a joy to be a part of!
