Matthew’s House Wedding
No matter how much you plan, there are always snags on a wedding day and this one was no different. But Jessica did a great job of rolling with the changes! First, the church where the wedding was held had been renovating the room where Jessica was going to get ready. Jessica called this week to confirm that it was done, but apparently “done” meant something different to the church than it did to her. There was space in the center of the room for people to get ready, but there was still construction equipment and stacks of chairs around the outside, and it just wasn’t going to work. So we picked another room, and it worked out fine. Then, when we went to do wedding party portraits after the ceremony we realized two groomsmen had already left for the reception. We did lose a little time, but it ended up working out fine to finish up wedding party portraits at the reception venue. Thanks for being flexible, Jessica!!
Jessica and Andrew actually met through Jessica’s mom! They communicated long distance for a while, and when Andrew moved back to NC they started dating. Andrew went through some career transitions during their 2.5 years of dating, but then they got engaged, and now they’re married! It was a joy to celebrate with them, and it was so much fun having not one, but two other couples there whose wedding I have photographed. I LOVE reconnecting with people and hearing about how things are going in their lives. =)
These two are both very close to their families (which makes sense…their families are great!). Jessica is one of five kids, but the only girl, so you can imagine that her wedding would be a big deal for their family. She is very close to her mom and I loved capturing them helping each other get ready. I also loved the rotating dance Jessica chose to do with her brothers during the reception. They all took turns dancing with her and all their different goofy personalities came out…it was personal, sweet and hilarious! Congratulations, you two!! I loved getting to celebrate with you =)
