March 2018 Goals
A lot of big things happened in February!! First, I had my last doctors appointment in a long line of doctors appointments. After a year and half, I’ve been cleared as healthy and we can start thinking about starting a family again. We’re so thankful for that!! Then my mom turned 60! I bought tickets 6 months ago to visit her for her birthday, and it was a wonderful trip. The day I came home my niece, Katelyn, was born!! Check out her newborn photos I posted last week if you want to meet her =)
Oh right, this is a photography blog 😉 February was fun because it was finally warm enough to shoot outside regularly again. And I got to celebrate with several families who have just had babies or adopted. It’s been a great month!! Here is where I would normally say March is going to be even better, but let’s be honest, it doesn’t get much better than meeting your first niece and doing her newborn photos. But March’ll be fun too 😉
Goals for this month:
- Finish and begin implementing KJ Marketing Jumpstart Course – This one is going to expire before too much longer, so I really need to watch the video this week or weekend. Then I need to brainstorm how to actually put the new things I’m learning into practice. It’s going to be great!!
- Watch KJ All Access videos for February and March – I mentioned this at the beginning of the year, but I bought several educational videos over the last few months. The All Access videos are video of Katelyn shooting real weddings and engagement sessions. I get to watch her interact with clients, pose people, handle timeline changes, set up flashes, etc. A new video is released every month, and I haven’t watched the one from February yet. So I have two to watch this month!
- Be diligent with editing – I’m still mostly shooting on the weekends, at least until daylight savings, so my goal is to edit like crazy during the week to have a mostly clean editing slate by the weekend. I haven’t done a perfect job of it so far, but if I can make major progress by the next big event I’ll call that a win.
- Read Tribes and Magnolia Story – Tribes is a business book I’ve heard about several times over the last few years and I got Magnolia Story for Christmas in 2016. I figured it’s about time to read both of them!!
- Meet with an animal behaviorist – This sounds crazy, and honestly it kind of is. Sadie has terrible separation anxiety and despite our best efforts she’s not getting better. We want her to be happy and stress-free (which will help us be happy and stress-free), so I need to meet with someone who knows more about this kind of thing than I do who can help us. Hopefully it’ll help us make some progress.
