Raleigh Newborn Photography
I’ve been thinking for a couple days about what I wanted to write with this post, and I feel like I haven’t been able to come up with anything good enough. Lauren and Matthew are not only family, they are some of our dearest friends, and their daughter Katelyn is the sweet little girl who made me and Stephen an aunt and uncle. There aren’t words to express how excited we are for Lauren and Matthew as they start this journey of parenthood or how much we long for a child of our own soon. I was never close to my cousins, and I hope that’s different for our kids!
Katelyn is only 11 days old and she’s already everyone’s favorite (sorry Stephen, it’s true ;). She’s a pretty happy baby, and is learning to eat and sleep like a champ. She was hungry right before we took pictures, so Lauren gave her a bottle, which put her right to sleep. She’d wake up just long enough to open her eyes or cry for a second before conking out again. I’m sure we’ll get many, many pictures of her with her eyes open in the future (her grandpa loves taking pictures too), and for a newborn session, a sleeping baby is always better than a crying baby!
I didn’t include a ton of her nursery pictures, but isn’t it so cute?? Lauren did a great job with the light pink/lamb theme. However, a very high percentage of people in this family love the color blue. You can see in the picture below on the right that I incorporated some blue into the baby blanket I made her. And I just impulse bought her something that is blue but also sufficiently girly. I can’t wait to give it to her on Saturday!! It won’t fit her for a while, but there’s a reason I needed it by Saturday. Saturday is game day, and you better believe Katelyn is going to be a Tar Heel. I’m realizing though that it’s going to be hard for me to not continually buy her things. Stephen, we’re gonna need a new line item in the budget just for nieces and nephews!!
