2018 UNC Senior Mini Sessions
HOW is it time to announce UNC senior sessions again already! This is the 6th year I’ve photographed seniors at UNC, and I absolutely love it. Though I’m getting farther and farther away from my own time there as a student, it always does my heart good to be back on campus in the spring and to celebrate with another group of bright-eyed world-changers. One of the reasons I love these sessions so much is that I love my own graduation photos with my roommates. They remind me of the time I got to spend with some of my best friends, friends who now live in different cities across the state and country. They remind me of the times I stayed up way too late in the library, got my favorite bagel from Alpine, or rushed Franklin street after beating Duke. Somehow all those memories are packed into my grad photos, and one of my goals with these sessions is to give that nostalgia-in-a-bottle to new grads.
My other main goal is to make these sessions unique and fun! Nothing is worse than stiff or boring senior photos, and you’re celebrating a huge accomplishment that’s been years in the making. One of the ways I do this is with dynamic and fun posing, but another great way to bring your own personal flair is to bring props! Some people bring confetti or champagne to pop. Others decorate their caps or bring balloons. I’ve seen sports jerseys, copies of the DTH, and more. Whatever you decide to do will be great, so let’s celebrate together!!
To book, email maria@mariaestesphoto.com or fill out the contact form in the menu bar. If possible, please include at least two sessions times that work for you.
The Details
30-minutes of photography at 2 locations on UNC’s campus
30 high-resolution digital images with print rights
An online gallery to share with family and friends
1 8×10 print
$200
Want to do a shoot with friends?? Just add $50 per additional person to the price. You’ll get 10 more images and another 8×10 print per person you add, and the price/person goes down! For groups of 4 or more, I recommend booking two sessions back to back so we can be sure to get plenty of individual photos of each person. Two sessions is also a great way to have time for more than 2 locations!

Frequently Asked Questions
- How do we pay? Full payment is due at the time of booking, and $50 of that payment is a non-refundable deposit. I accept card payments through my online booking company, Honeybook, or you can mail a check if you prefer. I also require a signed contract, but don’t worry! It’s really simple and you can sign it online right before you pay. I do ask that if you’re splitting the payment among your group that one person pay me and then you work out paying each other back.
- Why do you require a contract? I find it’s the best way to make sure we’re all on the same page. It contains the payment policy above as well as my inclement weather policy and model release (allowing me to use the photos on my website and social media). If you have any questions about it, don’t hesitate to ask!
- What happens if it rains? There’s almost always a chance of rain in April…it just comes with the territory! What I typically do is keep an eye on the forecast in the days leading up to the session. However, it can change so much day to day that I won’t make a final call until the day of the session. If I feel we need to reschedule, I will let you know at least 2 hours before your scheduled start time. We’ll move your session to another available time, and, if necessary, I will open up a back-up day for sessions. If we can’t find a time that works for both of us, I will refund your full payment and refer you to another awesome photographer.
- Can we bring props? Please do! Props can make your session even more personal and fun. I’ve seen confetti, champagne, balloons, dogs, decorated grad caps, and more. Let me know if you’re thinking about anything in particular so we can think through the best way to include it. =)
