Raleigh Christmas Wedding
Faith and Benjamin met at a concert back in October of 2014. Later they were both at a Lord of the Rings marathon with friends, where, according to Benjamin, he spent the entire 12 hours thinking about asking Faith on a date. They’ve been together ever since and have a lot of fun, so when Benjamin proposed, he used a scrapbook with photos of all of their adventures. They’re nerdy in the best ways (I mean, they love Star Wars and Lord of the Rings…only cool people love those things), and wore matching Millennium Falcon accessories on their big day. Awesome =)
What wasn’t awesome was waking up the morning of the wedding to the news that the reception venue had had a fire during the night. Not only could they not have the reception there, most the decorations had already been set up, and it was all smoke damaged. But Benjamin and Faith handled it so, so well. Benjamin called me very calmly to let me know that some of the plans had changed, and though I know she was disappointed, Faith didn’t show it, and had a good time anyway. I’ve known Faith since she was in high school, so I feel like I can say this: I’m so proud of her!
They ended up setting up a space at the church where the ceremony was being held for the reception. Friends and family rallied to make cookies, find materials for centerpieces and get everything set up. It really looked great! I’m so impressed with what they were able to do with so little time. At the end of the day, they were married, surrounded by their family and friends. That’s what really matters! Congratulations you two!!
Faith, Benjamin, and their family and friends took care of most of the details of the day themselves (and did a great job!), but here are some of the other vendors involved.
