Mill Bridge Nature Park Family Photography
This is one of the other special families that I’ve had the privilege of photographing for many years in a row. I think the first year we did pictures was the year both of our families moved to Wake Forest, 2013. Joshua had just been born (he’s 4 now!) and we were all super new to the area. We’ve done three sessions on Southeastern’s campus, one at Joyner Park, and now one at the Mill Bridge Nature Park. But it wasn’t supposed to be at Mill Bridge Nature Park. That’s the fun (read unpredictable) thing about family sessions with little kids. I’ve talked a lot in the past about how you have to be able to go with the flow when little ones are involved, and that was especially true of this one. We had planned to do the session at Falls Lake Dam, a full 20 minutes from where the Rainers live. And sweet 1-year-old James had an accident. A throw-the-pants-in-the-dumpster type of accident. And we didn’t have extra pants. Mill Bridge Nature Park (which is a great location by the way) is close to where the Rainers live, so we drove over there and I started with individual pictures of the other boys while Sarah went to go get James some pants. But I couldn’t resist one diaper picture. =) For any mom this is obvious, but the more I photograph families the more I realize how true this statement is: never a dull moment!
