May 2017 Goals
April is the month of graduation sessions. UNC graduation is the beginning of May and campus is always so crowded the week before, so I try to do all my grad sessions in April. I’ve had so many this year, and I’ve loved all of them! Staying on top of editing hasn’t been easy, but I I’ve had shoots most weekends and been able to get my editing done before the next weekends sessions. Yay! April was also the month we got to go on our vacation to NYC and Boston, which was incredible (not restful, but incredible). I can’t wait to share photos from it, but those will have to wait until all these grad sessions are done.
To-do:
- Shoot and deliver final grad sessions – I have two more grad sessions tomorrow night and then I’m done! I love grad sessions, but I don’t love driving 45 minutes to UNC all the time. The driving makes me feel like things are so much more busy! I have a wedding this weekend, and I’m hoping to finish all the portrait sessions on my plate before then.
- Shoot first weddings of the season – I had a wedding in February, so technically this is my second wedding of the year, but it’s the beginning of my spring busy season.
- Read – I’ve been so busy with graduation sessions and editing this month that I haven’t done a good job of reading regularly. I want to make it a habit, but I’m not sure the best way to go about that. Maybe reading for a few minutes before bed each night? Anyway, still working on this one.
- Train Sadie – We got a new type of collar for her last month called the gentle leader that’s supposed to help with pulling issues, but she doesn’t really like it because it has a piece of material that goes over her nose. I need to work with her more this month to get her comfortable with it and start taking her for walks in it.
Done:
Stay caught up on editing– Even with taking a week off for our vacation the second week of April I’ve been able to stay on top of my editing and that’s a great feeling.
I’m going to do a full blog post of our trip soon, but here’s a photo from the top of Rockefeller center to hold you over. We went there on my birthday!!
