December Goals 2016
This fall. It was always going to be nuts. Stephen started a new full-time job and a PhD. As if that weren’t crazy enough, I’ve been hit by one big medical thing after another since the end of September. It’s been scary sometimes and exhausting all the time, and there’s a part of me that can’t wait to have 2016 behind us. Despite all that, we know we have so much to be thankful for. We’re thankful for our families who have always been wonderful but have been so supportive the last few months. We’re thankful for good health insurance that enables to not worry about finances in the midst of all this. We’re thankful for amazing friends who send us food and gift cards and pray for us. We’re thankful for gracious professors and that Stephen can take the spring semester off of school. We’ve NEVER had a whole semester where neither of us has been a student our whole relationship!! I’m a little excited. =) I’m thankful I didn’t have any weddings in November, and I’m so so thankful for Stephen. No matter what life throws at us, I feel like we can tackle anything together, and I am so blessed to have him by my side.
We had a friend take some new family pictures of us with Sadie in the middle of November, and I’ll share more in a full blog post soon, but I wanted to share a couple now, because I LOVE them. He did a fabulous job!!
Goals:
- Photograph December weddings – I keep seeing photographers post about their last wedding of 2016, but mine’s not until Dec 30th! I have two weddings this month, and I’m so excited for both of them. The last one is for some of our dear friends, and Stephen is a groomsmen!
- Submit all fall weddings to blogs – Most of them are prepped and ready to go, I just have to decide where to send them!
- Update website – I haven’t updated my website in almost a year, and I have so many weddings from 2016 that I’m proud of and need to showcase! This is another carry over from November, but this month has been so nuts for us personally that I don’t feel bad for pushing another thing to December.
- Teach Sadie to come, stay, and got to bed – She’s learning come, but she’s still only responding when she wants to. She needs to learn to come when we ask, not when she feels like it. She also has a hard time being downstairs when we go upstairs, particularly at night, so teaching her to go to bed without whining is going to be important this month.
- Christmas projects – It’s no secret that I love crafting, and several Christmas gifts this year are going to be some kind of project or another. I gotta get busy to make sure I finish them on time!
Done:
Edit and Deliver 5 sessions from one day– I think I got ALL 5 sessions delivered within two weeks of shooting, and I’m super proud of that.Deliver October weddings– While I didn’t get these done as fast as I would have liked, I did get them done before traveling to see my family for Thanksgiving. I can’t tell you how good it felt to go see my family and not have a single photo on my editing slate.
