November Goals
Well, October was crazy to say the least. Two out of town weddings, handfuls of family sessions, personal traveling, and a new dog! Whew! I’m getting tired just thinking about it. Probably because I stayed up to watch the end of game 7 of the world series last night and got 5 hours of sleep. My Indians couldn’t quite do it in the end, but it was fun to watch them play.
Our new dog, Sadie, is a sweetheart. We adopted her THIS week and she has been so good so far. She’s 3 so she doesn’t have all the crazy energy of a puppy, which is perfect for us right now. She is quickly learning how to walk on a leash, sit and come, and she wants to please us so badly. It’s so fun to see her wag her tail when we talk to her and be excited when we come home. This is the picture the shelter uploaded to her adoption page. Don’t worry, more photos are coming! We wanted to get her used to the leash before I try to take a bunch more pictures of her. =)
However, new dogs take time. A lot of time. Even great new dogs like Sadie. I have two weddings and two family sessions on my editing plate right now, and I haven’t gotten as much done with them this week as I had hoped. The world series didn’t help with that either since we streamed most of the games on my computer. Here’s to a productive November!
Goals:
- Shoot 5 sessions on Saturday – Yep, you read that right. 5. But Stephen’s going to be out of town and if I do them all at once, I only have to go out and shoot on 1 day instead of 5. For a home body like me that’s worth it! I’m thankful that the weather looks like it will be good
- Catch up on editing – I have a break from weddings in November and no other portrait sessions on my calendar after this weekend, so the rest of November will be editing catch up.
- Submit all recent weddings to blogs – I’m almost ready to submit my two September weddings, and I’ll soon have my October weddings ready.
- Update website – I’ve shot several weddings this year that I’m incredibly proud of, but I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to update my portfolio or my website. That’s a must this month!
- Teach Sadie basic commands – We’re working on sit right now, and she’s getting really close to getting it. I eventually want to teach her to sit, stay, come, and lie down.
- Puppy pictures – She’s not technically a puppy, but I call all dogs puppies. Once she learns how to sit still outside it’s photoshoot time!
Done:
Photograph two out-of-town weddings in October– They were back-to-back weekends, which was absolutely exhausting, but they were both beautiful and they are both done!!
