Cape Fear Vineyard Wedding
Friends, I love Marissa and Jake’s story! They met at a gun range of all places where they happened to be placed in neighboring stalls. When Marissa finished shooting, Jake started talking to her and they hit it off. A few months later they started dating, and in February this year Jake proposed. One day when Marissa got home, Jake had given her dog, Zorro, the ring and he greeted her at the door with it while Jake came around the corner with flowers. How sweet is that? Marissa said, “I had no idea a Tuesday could be so special.” And now they’re married!! I never get tired of stories like these.
The wedding day was warm and clear, a stark contrast from the hurricane the Saturday before. I’m SO glad Marissa and Jake picked October 15th and not October 8th! The wedding was at Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery, a newer venue in Elizabethtown, NC. The vineyard is gorgeous and the ceremony location by the lake is beautiful. They even have little cottages on the property where the wedding party can get ready and friends and family could stay before or after the wedding! Marissa is just a little bit country, and the tranquil outdoor setting was perfect for her wedding.
Marissa did a lot of the decorations herself, and I am super impressed. You HAVE to check out the cupcake display she created. It was one of my favorite things about the reception! That may or may not be influenced by my love for cupcakes. =) Congratulations you two!!
