Wunderlist Review
It’s not secret that I love lists. A lot. I make lists for everything and I have old notebooks full of lists with everything crossed out. The whole point of making lists is to be able to cross things off, right?
A photographer friend of mine introduced me to an app for t0-do lists years ago, but I only just recently realized how amazing it was. It’s called Wunderlist, and I recommend it for anyone who has to write something down to make sure to remember to do it. I’ve been using it instead of those crazy notebooks for about a month now, and it’s the best free (yep, free!) list-making app I’ve ever used.
It has all the basic functions like creating different lists for different types of tasks, and creating folders to group lists. I have a weddings folder with a list for each wedding I’m shooting, a business list for all my t0-dos that don’t go with a particular wedding, and a personal folder with my lists for things that need to be done around the house, my grocery list, menu, etc. You can add due dates, set reminders if something is particularly important, and sort a list by due date.
You can also add notes to an item if you need more information with it to complete it, and you can add other Wunderlist users to particular folders, lists, or to-do items. I haven’t needed to do this too much yet, but I can imagine it being super helpful if you collaborate with co-workers a lot!
I’ve saved my two favorite features for last. I LOVE the ability to sync lists across devices. I’m signed into my Wunderlist account on apps on my iPod, my samsung phone, and my Macbook, so I can access my lists and check things off from anywhere. I can also add things from anywhere as they pop up. I don’t have to worry about not having my notebook with me anymore! Finally, the main menu. This sounds simple, but being able to see what’s due today or tomorrow across all of my different lists seals the deal for me. Sometimes I need to be able to think about one wedding and all the to-dos associated with that one wedding, but sometimes I just need to know what I have to get done today. It’s wonderful (no pun intended)! I highly recommend downloading it form the App Store or Google Play and giving it a try!
