August Goals
July was nice. Stephen and I were busier than I thought we’d be, but I got a good break from photography. July in North Carolina is hot enough that no one really wants to be outside taking pictures, so it functions as another off-season for me. I don’t have many sessions to shoot or edit, so I use the time to catch up things I can’t do when I’m busy. It also gives me a much needed break before I gear up for the fall (my busiest season of the year!). Stephen and I went on vacation (check out the photos here!), and I’m starting to feel rested and ready for the fall. That’s a great place to be!
Done:
Blog regularly– There’s something really satisfying about writing a bunch of blog posts and then scheduling them to publish and post to social media at different times. I had a few technical difficulties this month with broken links, but now I can wind it up and let it go. It’s so freeing to blog a few posts at once, schedule them, and not have to think about it for a week or two!Take a break for vacation– I didn’t do ANY work on vacation aside from checking my email to make sure I wasn’t missing something big. It was delightful to spend time with Stephen and my family and not have to worry about my business (thanks to that first to-do).Upload weddings for submission– I’m excited to say that I’ve uploaded ALL my favorite weddings to date and they are ready to submit to blogs. Friends, that is most of the battle for me. Now I just haveFile sales tax– Not glamorous, but I don’t have to think about it for another 3 months!!
To-Do:
- Prepare for fall weddings – I’ve got emails to send and phone calls to make to ensure that everything is ready for my next few weddings!
- Submit weddings to other blogs – You may have noticed that Borrowed and Blue has published several of my weddings over the last couple weeks! I’m super excited about developing a partnership with them, but I want to submit to other blogs as well.
