Durham Family Photos

I am so proud of how well the littles did during this sweet family’s photo session! An hour is a long time for kids to smile and take direction, but these kids were champs. And could American Tobacco have been a better location? It’s not often that you can find an urban location that still has grassy areas and room for the kids to take a break and run around.

One of my favorite things to do during family sessions is to keep shooting once the pose is over. That’s when kids show their true personalities and you see family relationships in action. I love some of the unscripted shots I got of James playing with his two little boys and Ava getting held upside down. If I asked for those things they would feel stiff and posed, but when they flow naturally, they are some of my favorite images!
