November Goals
When was the last time I posted goals? Maybe August? Looking back I see that it was September, but I can’t believe it was only 2 months ago. So much has happened between then and now, it feels like a year. Let’s recap September and October:
- 5 weddings. That may not sound like a lot, but with a full-time job it’s been C-R-A-Z-Y!
- 4 Bridal Portrait Sessions.
- 11 Family Sessions. Some were mini-sessions, but that doesn’t mean I’ve stayed on top of blogging them all!
- 2 Senior Sessions.
- 1 Engagement Session.
In just my second year of business I can’t believe how blessed I am to work with so many wonderful clients. I never thought I’d come this far in just a couple years and I can’t wait to see where this adventure of a business goes. Here are some things I can check off my list for the last two months:
Build a workable mobile site– It’s not very different from my website, but at least I don’t have to be embarrassed knowing that people check out Maria Estes Photography on the go!Stay on top of editing– I’m happy to say I’m not ridiculously behind on editing after such a busy fall. Blogging, however, is a different story, and that’s one of my main goals for this month.
Here are some things I need to do better now that I’m not so busy shooting:
- BLOG! – No one cares about a blog post 6 months after the fact. I want to blog the shoots I’ve been doing while people are still excited about their images!
- Update Portfolio – I don’t think I’ve done this a single time this year, which is pretty pathetic. I’ve made some of my favorite images this year and they’re just buried in my blog.
- Social Media Strategy – I was feeling like I was doing pretty good on this, but the truth is I’m still all over the place. And being so busy this fall, social media has definitely taken a backseat. I need to get back into the swing of it and make a plan.
- Read – For me editing photos means a lot of seasons of Criminal Minds on in the background. Now that I’ll have a little more free time, I want to get back to reading more during my off hours. I’ve been on the first chapter of Jane Eyre for about two months, so that’s first on my list!
- Exercise – Before this crazy season hit I was doing pretty well going to the gym and/or going for runs. I miss it! This month, even though it’s getting cold again, I want to get back in the habit.
- Cook – Busyness and my husband’s evening shifts at Chick-fil-A contributed to a lack of cooking over the past couple months. I do enjoy cooking, and it’s way healthier (less frozen pizza) plus my husband isn’t working at Chick-fil-A any more so I’ll have more motivation not to just whip up a box of macaroni and cheese.
What have I been up to for the past few months? Really just a corn maze and the state fair, oh and Phantom of the Opera at DPAC with my husband, but we forgot to take a picture. I know, pathetic. When it’s my job all day I don’t always think about it in my off time at night.
