Downtown Durham Wedding
Joel and Anne-Shirley got married in the middle of June in downtown Durham, and their day could not have been more perfect. They chose a picnic theme for their wedding, and I LOVED it! The reception was family-style summer picnic food and those colors! I usually gravitate toward cool colors myself, but the oranges, pinks, and yellows could not have been more beautiful. And Anne! I could go on and on about how stunningly beautiful and happy she was. I loved the birdcage veil she chose! She was absolutely glowing all day and so quick to laugh. And not those small and proper laughs, big throw-your-head-back laughs that make your ribs hurt.
One of my favorite moments all day was when Dr. Davis asked her for Joel’s ring and she reached into her pocket, that’s right, pocket, and pulled it out. She tried to be all smooth about it, but the audience audibly gasped, and Dr. Davis said he’d honestly never seen that before. Cue laugh. The biggest laugh I’ve ever seen during a wedding ceremony and honestly one of the most special moments. Anne and Joel were an absolute joy to photograph and it was an honor being part of their day. Congratulations you two!!!
