June Goals
May was such a busy month! It was full of editing graduation and senior sessions and shooting more graduation and senior sessions. I shot a lovely wedding on Mother’s day and am almost finished editing it (guess that should be on the list!). I shot my first maternity session (which was gorgeous by the way. Go check it out here), and did a little second shooting with my best photog friend. Here’s to more shooting together in june!
Here are some of the things on my done list:
Website Face Lift– I LOVE playing with new colors and fonts and making my website the best it can be. I change very much (you may not have even noticed, and that’s okay!), but I think it’s a big improvement from better social media and call to action buttons to some slightly different fonts.Create Mobile Site– I didn’t really do a whole lot with this besides simplify my site. You don’t want the number of menu options to take up the full vertical screen! (Mine didn’t, but it was a bit excessive.) The new menu options will be much more easy to navigate on the go!Social Media Strategy– This is kind of half done. I decided HootSuite is not really worth paying for to schedule out my tweets, so I’m trying to figure out a good way to use twitter and instagram. If I’m only tweeting once a week, what’s the point? I also want to get better at interacting with other wedding photographers and bloggers like Southern Bride and Groom and Style Me Pretty.Design New Sample Albums– This month I need to actually order them, but I’m finished designing them which is the hard part anyway! I say hard, but I really mean tedious. I actually LOVE designing sample albums.
And here are some things I want to get accomplished in June:
- Become an S-Corporation – That’s right! I’m taking some big legal steps this month with the hopes of saving some money on my taxes next year. Let’s do this!
- Order Sample Albums – I already mentioned that they are designed and ready to be ordered, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I’ll have new albums in my hands by the end of the month!
- Catch up on Editing – I’ve got one last wedding carrying over from May and I want to get it done this week before my weddings in June start up!
- Get published on a photo blog – this one might be a goal for a while seeing as I haven’t been doing this as long as so many other people out there, but I’m confident if I keep in the back of my mind I could accomplish this goal in the next year. Here we go!
- Read more – I watch entirely too much TV. I’ve started running recently and I love it, but I want to read more too. The cool thing about reading is that I can do it at the park or on the porch and enjoy being outside instead of in the dark in my living room. I read The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers last fall, and I want to finish the Return of the King by the end of the month!
