DeRidder Farm Family Photos

This is another one of those families that we met our first weekend in Dry Creek back in August of 2018. They hosted us for breakfast when we first came to visit, and we immediately felt so welcomed. They’re just people that you feel comfortable with no matter how long you’ve known them, and Zak legitimately could be a star on “Kids Say the Darndest Things.” I laughed out loud several times during our session, and I hope I can remember all the things he said so I can include them in the photo captions. I think my favorite was when I had the girls kiss him on the cheek. He said afterwards with a completely straight face, “I didn’t like that idea.” It’s okay Zak, everyone else did 😉 I also love how much the girls love Benjamin. They always want to hold him and play with him, and when you’re a parent, they way other people treat your kids becomes a very big deal.

Since I’m still new to the area, I love it when clients have a location in mind. When Kristi asked if we could shoot at her mom’s property with an old barn I was so excited! We didn’t have a lot of old barns where we were from in NC. It turned out to be the perfect spot to shoot, and the field right behind it was the cherry on top.
