Southwest Louisiana Wedding Photography
This is my last wedding from NC this fall! It feels good to be getting to the end of the long, long line of editing, but it also feels like the end of an era, and it’s a little sad. This was a great one to end on though. The sunset over the golf course made for some pretty epic portraits, and I think Sam was the most emotional groom I’ve ever photographed…in the best way possible! He was so happy to be marrying Jordan and is so close with his family that the emotions were on the surface all day. Everything was beautiful!
Jordan and Sam met while working for the same catering company at NC State, which is why we chose campus for their engagement photos in May. They were friends for a while before Sam realized he was falling in love. They’ve dated long distance most of the time they’ve been together between Jordan’s grad school at Syracuse and job in High Point, so I know they are really looking forward to finally being together.
The wedding was at River Ridge Golf Club east of Raleigh. It’s a gorgeous little place in the middle of knowhere with a pretty white clubhouse and a getting-ready-room for Jordan with lots of windows. If you know anything about me, you know I love me some window light!! Jordan and Sam decided not to see each other before the ceremony so we did portraits with just Jordan and her bridesmaids and then Sam with his groomsmen before the ceremony. They also exchanged letters, which was really sweet. The ceremony was out behind the clubhouse where a cross was set up on the green, and the reception was in a covered pavilion adjacent to the clubhouse. When they entered, they went straight into the first dances, and again, the mother-son dance was the sweetest I’ve ever seen. Now that we’re expecting a sweet little boy, it’s hard not to see those dances and picture myself 25 years from now. That plus the crazy hormones, and I was crying like a baby too!
I also just have to brag on Jordan and Sam for a minute. I haven’t gotten photos back to people as quickly as I normally do because of this move, and they have been so patient. Not only that, Jordan remembered from their engagement session that Stephen and I love Calvin and Hobbes and she sent an adorable Calvin and Hobbes bib for Baby Estes in the mail last week. I have the best clients, and I’m really going to miss them!! Congratulations, Jordan and Sam! It’s easy to see why everyone around you loves you so much =)
