September 2017 Goals

It’s been a few months since I managed to get up a goals post like this. I guess with the slower summer season I didn’t feel the need to be on top of things the way I normally am. Then in August I was busier than normal. August is not a very popular month for weddings in NC, which makes sense given the 105 degree heat index we had for a few days. But this year I had 2! In a way it’s nice because now I can focus on editing and family session for the month of September! It’ll be a fun change of pace =)

To-do:

  • Deliver my last August wedding – I shot for almost 11 hours, which is more than normal for me, so I have more images to edit than normal. That’s making this feel like a big task, but I’m hoping to get it done by the end of this week!
  • Start mini sessions – I have two days of mini sessions this month! So far they are all either family or senior sessions, and I’m so excited!!
  • Edit labor day pictures – We have gone to Black Mountain with friends each of that four labor day weekends. We always have a blast, and we always go hiking at least once. It always yields great photos and I can’t wait to look through them!
  • Train Sadie – She’s getting pretty good at “lie down” in the controlled environment of our living room, but seems to forget everything once we go outside. She’s all over the place with “stay” and “come,” so we’re going to keep working on those inside for now.
  • Recover from knee surgery – I’m taking advantage of a rare September with no weddings to have minor knee surgery….tomorrow! Hoping for a speedy recovery!

Done:

  • Deliver first August wedding – One down, one to go!

Not a lot of good options for our Labor Day group photo this year, since, like a dummy, I forgot my brand new (to me) tripod at the cabin, but we made do with the trail sign! More photos, of course, to come!
