April Goals

Setting and reaching goals is an important part of growth. I haven’t posted my goals before, but I thought it would be a great way for you to keep up with what I’m doing as well as added motivation for me to accomplish the things I set out to do. Without further ado, here are my April goals. What are your goals for this month or year?

Thing to do:

• Develop a social media strategy – right now I have Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Flickr, Google plus, yelp and like 18 other random social media platforms to my name. My postings are all over the place and sporadic at best on some of these platforms. I’d like to create a streamlined strategy for these sites and get rid of the ones I’m not actively using.
• Get published on a photo blog – this one might be a goal for a while seeing as I haven’t been doing this as long as so many other people out there, but I’m confident if I keep in the back of my mind I could accomplish this goal in the next year. Here we go!

Done: 

• Start advertising on Wedding Wire – I’m super excited about this, especially since I didn’t think it would happen this year even. If it leads to even one wedding booking it will pay for itself and here’s hoping it will generate a few this year! 
• Finish SEO on all static website pages – For anyone familiar with SEO, this is no small task, and I’m super happy to have it checked off my list! 
• Finish SEO on blog posts – Wahoo!!! So glad this is done. Hopefully Google will be kind to me now.
• Shoot my first engagement session of the season – We got to shoot at Raulston Arboretum on Easter weekend and the weather was amazing! I can’t wait for their wedding in May!!
• Shoot graduation mini-sessions – I still have 6 left, and I’ve done 7 already. I’m pretty excited about that turnout since this is the first year I’ve offered a graduation and senior shoot deal. Yay!
• Read other photographers blogs once a week for inspiration – It’s been great to see what other professionals are up to and get inspiration for my upcoming shoots and weddings.

I didn’t get all the things done this month that I wanted to do, but I did a lot! I’m most excited about advertising on WeddingWire and finishing my Website SEO stuff. Yay!
